You own what you post. 5. Intellectual property
The Forum’s design, branding, and non-user-generated content are owned by the Forum’s operators. User-generated content remains owned by its authors as described in Section 4.
If you believe content on the Forum infringes your copyright, contact us at [email protected] with a description of the work, the infringing content’s location, and your contact information.
Note: if IoTSec Forum is based in the US and wants formal DMCA safe-harbor protection, a full notice-and-takedown section (with a registered DMCA agent) should be added here that’s worth a quick legal review rather than a template fill-in.
6. No warranty
The Forum and all content on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- Any tutorial, technique, or piece of code is accurate, complete, safe, or fit for any particular purpose.
- The Forum will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- Following any content on this Forum will not cause damage to hardware, software, data, or systems.
You use everything on this Forum, including all code and techniques, entirely at your own risk.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IoTSec Forum, its operators, and admins are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including damage to hardware/firmware/software, data loss, legal liability from misuse of published techniques, or lost profits arising from your use of the Forum or reliance on any content posted here, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Note: some jurisdictions require a specific dollar cap or formula for a liability disclaimer like this to actually hold up. Worth having a lawyer confirm what’s needed where the Forum operates from.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless IoTSec Forum and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or legal costs arising from: (a) your use of the Forum, (b) your violation of these Terms or applicable law, or (c) your misuse of any technique, code, or information posted on the Forum against a system you didn’t have authorization to test.

10. Changes to the Forum or these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Forum, or update these Terms, at any time. If we make material changes, we’ll post a notice on the Forum. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Forum and delete your account at any time via your account preferences. We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms or the Guidelines.
